Jan Constantine
“The guidance I’ve received has been tremendously valuable. I’m a designer, I rely on other people to help me with the financial side of the business. Because the people in Advantage Creative know about banking, they have been able to introduce me to people who have helped me develop and grow the business. But they also understand creative businesses like mine and that’s made a huge difference.”
Jan Constantine
Iconic British themes have been central to the work of designer Jan Constantine since her company was formed in 2002. Her aim has always been to create the heirlooms of the future with products such as hand-embroidered cushions, throws, wall hangings and kitchen textiles.
We first met Jan in September 2005, and at this time she was already making a name for herself as a respected designer, with some of her designer homeware retailing in prestigious stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty and Fortnum & Masons.
Jan was in the process of setting up a new design studio for her brand in the midlands, expanding her team, and increasing market penetration through stronger marketing. Our investment helped Jan invest in her core infrastructure, team and marketing to grow the company.
Our relationship with Jan was typical of our Angel investor approach – we provided practical help, guidance and advice to Jan and her team at key stages of the business development. We provided expert advice to Jan when her company was licensed to produce home textiles for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We also supported Jan in detailed licencing negotiations with major homeware brands.
